AB / SHM
As an AB/SHM on board, your duties will be assigned by the Chief Officer, Duty Officer, and Bosun, and will include the following responsibilities:
- Performing navigational watchkeeping duties.
- Handling gangway watchkeeping to ensure security and safety.
- Conducting maintenance of the deck and accommodation areas.
- Carrying out maintenance of cargo holds and hatch covers.
- Assisting with the upkeep of ballast and fresh water tanks.
- Participating in mooring operations.
- Maintaining cargo gear, such as cranes and grabs.
- Supporting garbage management activities under the guidance of the Chief Officer.
- Assisting with pollution prevention measures under the direction of the Chief Officer and Second Engineer.
- Promoting and maintaining safe working practices on board as a Safety Representative, in collaboration with the Safety Officer (Second Engineer) and monthly elected safety representatives.
- Undertaking security-related duties as assigned by the Ship Security Officer.

The Master shall have full authority and responsibility for regulating and assigning Navigational and Cargo Watches and implementing planned maintenance of hull and equipment to achieve best all-round operational efficiency. In this respect, the Master may assign additional responsibilities to the Deck Officers as deemed fit
