Fourth Engineer
As Fourth Engineer on board, you shall be the ‘Duty Watch Keeping Engineer Officer’ reporting to the Second Engineer and shall also be in charge of the day to day operations and maintenance which will include but not be limited to the following:
- Assisting the Second Engineer in executing planned maintenance routines as scheduled.
- Supporting the Second Engineer during ballasting, de-ballasting operations, and ballast water exchange procedures.
- Maintaining and keeping records of spare parts for auxiliary engines, auxiliary and exhaust gas boilers, main air compressors, fuel oil and lube oil purifiers, heat exchangers, emergency air compressors, lifeboat engines, and other machinery.
- Assisting with implementing the Company’s Bunker Management Practice guidelines under the guidance of the Chief Engineer.
- Operating and maintaining assigned safety and pollution prevention equipment.

The Chief Engineer shall have full authority & responsibility for regulating, assigning & implementing planned maintenance of machinery spaces, Deck Machinery & Cargo Gear equipment, to achieve best all-round operational efficiency. In this respect, Chief Engineer may assign additional responsibilities to the Engineer as deemed fit.
