Chief Officer
As Chief Officer on board, you shall be the ‘Executive Officer’ reporting to the Master and shall also be over all in charge of day to day operations and maintenance which will include, but not be limited to the following:
- Responsibility of monitoring duties of subordinate Officers & Ratings
- Maintenance of Deck and Accommodation
- Maintenance of Cargo Holds & Hatch Covers
- Maintenance of Cargo Gear & Other Deck Machinery
- Repairs & Survey Planning
- Planning and Execution of the safe loading, carriage and discharge of Cargoes
- Ballast Water Management & Ballast Water Exchange
- Record Keeping & Control of Deck Stores including paints
- Recording details of PMS carried out on board
- Oversee maintenance of LSA & FFA Equipment by the 3rd Officer with guidance from the Chief Engineer

The Master shall have full authority & responsibility for regulating & assigning Navigational & Cargo Watches & implementing planned maintenance of hull & equipment to achieve best all-round operational efficiency. In this respect, the Master may assign additional responsibilities to the Deck Officers as deemed fit.
